Are you active on Instagram but not sure of other like-minded travellers to follow? Nichola West, who blogs at Globalmouse Travels, suggests six of her favourites..
I absolutely love Instagram, it’s a way to showcase our travels as they happen and are teasers to the features we will be writing on globalmousetravels.com. I’ve always loved photography and I really like the creative way you can use one shot to convey an experience or country. We have lots of exciting travels planned for the summer so follow along on our adventures here. I love following people who really rock instagram and share little snippets of their worldwide wanderings and I am sharing some of my favourites.
1. La Jolla Mom
First off I absolutely love the dash of luxury from La Jolla Mom, a San Diego resident who regularly posts photos of her luxury travels around the world from Paris to Hong Kong. Her photos of life in La Jolla are also beautiful and a perfect antidote to a rainy day at home.
2. Chasing the Donkey
We have only briefly visited Croatia and this small glimpse of the beautiful country definitely had me wanting to see more. I slightly satisfy my wanderlust (or does it intensify it?) by following Chasing the Donkey who posts the most beautiful photos of sunsets, turquoise waters and delicious Croatian food.
3. Heather on Her Travels
Heather on her travels is another account that has just beautiful photographs from her numerous and wonderful travels. I love the mix of food, gorgeous hotels and historic sights in her photos and she always has me dreaming of being wherever she is!
4. Tigerlillyquinn
Bristol is one of my favourite UK cities and I can always get a lovely snapshot of it from Fritha at Tigerlillyquinn’s account. She has the most amazing creative eye and spots colour and humour everywhere. She’s often on her travels to some of Europe’s coolest cities too so there are blasts of everything from Copenhagen to Berlin to brighten up any Monday morning!
5. Roaming Giraffe
One place I haven’t yet visited is South Africa but I absolutely love seeing it through Roaming Giraffe – or South African resident Di Brown’s photos. The details of the wildlife, windswept beaches and colourful houses are just fantastic glimpses into this intriguing country.
6. Tofu Diaries
Finally, to ensure I have enough foodie pictures to take me up to lunchtime I love a good old daydream at the Tofu Diaries pages () of food heaven. There’s everything to keep you wanting to eat right away and full of so much inspiration to enjoy something more interesting than a cheese sandwich! Travels and food….what’s not to love?!
And while we’re talking Instagram accounts don’t forget to tag your photos with #trips100 for a chance to be showcased on their online gallery.
